I absolutely adore this novel. The characters jump out of the pages and into your heart. I want to find this painting and find my happily ever after, If only that were possible. I love this time period and there was definitely some hocus pocus involved in this story. The little girl in this story is adorable and she will steal your heart. The chemistry between Brad and Alexandria is ( Ha Ha) magical. I love the way this author describes the plantation, the town and the life in the old south in general.I was a little upset about the ending but that was just a drop in the bucket compared with the overall greatness of this escape into the past.. I hope to read more time travel romances from this author, Please don't let this be the end of this story. I want a sequel and more...

This book was good but could have been great. It needed a professional editor to cut about 100 pages. There were scenes that were abrupt and not thought out well--spoiler-(wedding).

Also, there were a lot of lose ends--This was really a shame, because with some tweaks and changes this could be up there with Jude Devereaux"s A knight in Shining armor.

I loved the characters--the good and the bad and the premise for the story was a good one. The end was silly and some of the parts of the middle should have been changed. As I said, one or two more rewrites would have made this one of the great ones.
Not really any black magic noted in the story. The author should have elaborated more on the use of black magic.
The story was good but the writing seemed immature. Just left me feeling like "is this it". It started out okay but then it seemed to take forever.
I always define the books in two categories (at least) cant put it down and airport read. This one was painless and fun but definitely one I could put down while boarding and then pick up after take off. For the price point it was fine.
A beautiful story with great characters. First time reading from this author and i gotta say the author did a splendid job of weaving a wonderful and interesting story of time travel. I would definitely recommend this book to friends and others to read.
Liked the aspect of "black magic" and the characters interaction. Pretty standard romance format but a really enjoyable story & likable characters.
